Leah Remini - Actor & Producer
Leah Remini - Actor, Producer
By Dulcy Brightman

Leah Remini, is the Executive Producer, of the Gurney Productions of this summer's hit show, “It’s All Relative” on the Learning Channel (TLC) which premiered on, Thursday, July 10th, 2014, 10/9c.

Previously, audiences will recall that, Leah Remini, co-starred with comedian Kevin James in the tremendously popular television series, “The King of Queens.” “The King of Queens” was also Executive Produced by Mr. James.

This year, Ms. Remini co-stars with her husband Angelo, who is the manager of the well-known restaurant, Vivian’s Millennium Café, near the Comcast/NBC Universal City Theme Park (See our Photography Section/California Scenes on this website).

In the early years of relocating to California, I visited Vivian's Cafe after an early morning meeting at the Universal Studios offices. After the meeting, I had a delicious brunch at Vivian's, and then I excused myself, and asked to use the Women's Restroom. I was carrying a rather large tote bag with items from my meeting, when I accidentally knocked the Ladies Room Soap Dish off the wall with it.

I was very embarrassed about the soap dish destruction, and went to find someone to make my apologies. I stepped outside the restroom, and around a corner. There, by a small garden, seated on white chairs, by a matching table with cool summer drinks on it was Leah Remini, her mother, Vicki Marshall (the owner of Vivian's,Millennium Café), and her sister. I made my apologies to Ms. Remini, and she said, "It's quite all right, that happens to be one of the things that needs replacing."

I believe Vivian's Millennium Cafe was in the first year of ownership by Mrs. Marshall. There was some mention of remodeling the restaurant as well. Leah's husband, Angelo manages the restaurant along with Leah's sister. Mostly, I was grateful to have been received with such kind and forgiving hospitality. This is a great place to eat and refresh yourself after visiting this famous neighborhood, and Comcast NBC Universal City Theme Park.

“It’s All Relative” includes daughter, Sofia, Leah’s mother, Vicki Marshall, her Step-Father, George Marshall, along with others to round out the supporting cast.
